omidbasir- Jan Willem van Dop, the president of Go Ahead Eagles, has voiced his frustration regarding the actions of Milan Smit’s agent. The striker, who has recently completed a transfer to Stoke City, was reportedly available to participate in the upcoming match against OGC Nice; however, his agent intervened and prevented him from doing so.

Ahead of the Europa League clash with Nice, discussions about Smit’s transfer were taking place. Stoke City was eager to sign the 22-year-old striker and had reached an agreement with him. The transfer, finalized for €5.5 million, makes Smit the most expensive outgoing transfer in the history of Go Ahead Eagles, surpassing Oliver Antman, who moved to Rangers FC last summer for over €4 million.

In the meantime, Go Ahead Eagles is actively searching for a replacement for Smit. Reports indicate that the club has reached out to Ajax regarding 19-year-old Don-Angelo Konadu. The young forward has primarily been utilized as a substitute at Ajax and has yet to score in five league appearances this season.
