Grealish s Injury and Future with Everton An Update 1Grealish s Injury and Future with Everton An Update 1

Jack Grealish has made a significant impact during his time on Merseyside, quickly becoming a fan favorite with David Moyes’ Everton. The 30-year-old has contributed two goals and six assists in the Premier League this season. However, he will not take to the field again for the 2025-26 season due to a stress fracture in his foot.

Moyes confirmed that the injury was discovered while the club was assessing a separate calf issue. He explained to reporters, “It is a blow to lose him. He didn’t come in [complaining] about his foot. He had a kick on the calf, and we believed he would recover in a few days. However, upon further examination, we found he has a stress fracture. It’s disappointing for him. He has been enjoying his time here and performing well. The supporters at Everton have shown him tremendous support, which he greatly appreciates. It’s unfortunate that he will need time off.”

Following his surgery, Grealish provided an update via social media from his hospital bed. He expressed his disappointment, stating, “I didn’t want the season to end like this, but that’s football. I’m gutted. Surgery is complete, and my focus now is on getting fit. I am determined to return fitter, stronger, and better than before. The support I’ve received since joining this incredible club has meant so much to me. The staff, my teammates, and especially the fans have been amazing, and I truly love representing this club. I will be cheering on the lads and doing everything I can to return as soon as possible. Thank you for all the love; it means a lot. UTFT.”

Grealish’s injury leaves his future uncertain. Everton holds a £50 million option to purchase him this summer, coinciding with the final year of his contract with Manchester City. However, it remains unclear whether they will activate this clause. Moyes has indicated that it is “far too early” to make any decisions regarding Grealish’s future, as the club has already sought to fill his position by signing Tyrique George from Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola commented on Grealish’s situation earlier in the season, noting, “He has a contract for one more year with us. The priority is that he recovers. He plays a significant role in Everton’s games. Post-injury, there may be interest from Manchester City, but many factors are still in play. We’ll see how things unfold. The key is that he is back on the field, playing a lot of minutes. This is the standard we expect. I’m genuinely happy to see him back, giving his best.”

As Grealish focuses on regaining full fitness, the upcoming summer transfer window promises to be pivotal. The playmaker is reportedly interested in continuing with Everton, but whether the Toffees will pursue his permanent signing remains to be seen. Additionally, Manchester City may experience considerable changes at the end of the season, as speculation regarding Pep Guardiola’s potential departure continues to circulate.
