omidbasir- Pep Guardiola has publicly expressed feelings of “embarrassment and shame” regarding his interaction with a television cameraman following Manchester City’s defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

During the match at St James’ Park, Guardiola appeared to engage in an intense confrontation with a cameraman. He was also observed in animated discussions with referee Samuel Barrott and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães after City’s 2-1 loss.

When questioned about his remarks to the cameraman during a press conference on Monday, Guardiola admitted that he had apologized for his behavior. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it,” he stated. “I don’t like it. I apologized after one second to the cameraman.”

Guardiola continued, “I am who I am. After 1,000 games, I’m not a perfect person; I make huge mistakes. It’s not about that. What is for sure is that I defend any team and my club. That’s for sure. The reason why is that I want to defend my team and my club.”

In a tense press briefing ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s visit to the Etihad Stadium for a Champions League match on Tuesday, Guardiola also took a subtle jab at Claudio Echeverri’s agent. Echeverri, currently on loan at Leverkusen from City, has found it challenging to secure playing time in the Bundesliga.

Guardiola expressed his preference for Echeverri to have joined Girona, a club associated with the City Football Group, and indicated his dissatisfaction with the player’s current situation in Germany. “Always, I would love for players to play a lot of minutes; the intention is always there,” he remarked regarding Echeverri’s circumstances. “We have an incredible appreciation for him as a football player. I am sure, pretty sure, his agent will know everything.”

When asked about the possibility of Echeverri returning to City in January, Guardiola responded, “It is a question for his beautiful agent.”
