Guardiola Expresses Regret Over Post Match IncidentGuardiola Expresses Regret Over Post Match Incident

omidbasir- Pep Guardiola has publicly expressed feelings of “embarrassment and shame” following his encounter with a television cameraman after Manchester City’s defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

The incident, which occurred on the pitch at St James’ Park, involved what appeared to be a heated confrontation with the cameraman. Guardiola was also seen engaging in animated discussions with referee Samuel Barrott and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães during the match, which ended in a 2-1 loss for City.

When questioned about his remarks to the cameraman during a news conference on Monday, Guardiola shared that he had already apologized for his actions. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it,” he stated. “I don’t like it. I apologized immediately to the cameraman. I am who I am. After 1,000 games, I am not a perfect person; I make significant mistakes. It’s not about that. What is certain is that I will defend any team and my club.”

In a tense news conference preceding Bayer Leverkusen’s visit to the Etihad Stadium for a Champions League match on Tuesday, Guardiola also made a subtle reference regarding Claudio Echeverri’s agent. Echeverri, who is on loan from City to Leverkusen, has had limited playing time in the Bundesliga.

City had preferred Echeverri to join Girona, a club within the City Football Group, and Guardiola seemed less than pleased with the young player’s current situation in Germany. “I would always love for players to receive ample playing time; our intentions are always aligned with that,” he remarked when addressing Echeverri’s predicament. “We hold a tremendous appreciation for him as a football player. I am confident that his agent is well aware of everything.”

When asked about the possibility of Echeverri returning to City in January, Guardiola responded, “That is a question for his esteemed agent.”
