Hamburg Coach Addresses Dompé’s Suspension for Disciplinary Issues

It was disclosed earlier today that Dompé was arrested on Sunday for driving while intoxicated, marking a troubling recurrence of legal issues for the player, who has previously faced similar charges.

Dompé has been a member of Hamburger SV since 2022, making a total of 105 appearances for the Bundesliga club. Notably, three years ago, he was involved in a traffic incident where he fled the scene of an accident at a bus stop in Hamburg-Hafen. Both Dompé and Polzin expressed disappointment over the player’s ongoing disciplinary challenges.

“There’s naturally great disappointment given my personal relationship with him,” Polzin remarked during his Thursday pre-match press conference. “The decision to suspend Dompé was unanimous.
