Harry Kane Achieves 500 Career Goals with Bayern MunichHarry Kane Achieves 500 Career Goals with Bayern Munich

omidbasir- England international Harry Kane expressed his pride following his remarkable achievement of scoring twice for Bayern Munich on Saturday, bringing his career total to 500 goals for club and country.

Kane’s two goals, which included his 100th successful penalty, were instrumental in securing a 3-0 victory against relegation-threatened Werder Bremen, ensuring Bayern maintains a six-point lead in the Bundesliga.

“It was nice. Obviously, a proud achievement to reach 500 goals. It’s a lot of hard work and sacrifice, so it’s gratifying to reach it. But as always, it’s about the next one,” Kane remarked after the match. He emphasized that the team’s victory and clean sheet were the most important aspects of the day.

His first goal came at the age of 17 while playing for Leyton Orient against Sheffield Wednesday in England’s third tier back in January 2011. On Saturday, he scored both goals in the first half; the first from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after a foul on Lennart Karl, and the second just four minutes later with a precise shot from outside the penalty area that struck the post, marking his 26th league goal of the season.

The 32-year-old striker has now netted 41 goals in 35 appearances for Bayern across all competitions this season, making him the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to surpass the 40-goal mark this season. Since his transfer from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has scored 126 goals for Bayern, having previously set a club record with 280 goals for Tottenham.

Additionally, Kane holds the record for the most goals for the England national team, with 78 goals in 112 appearances.

Leon Goretzka added Bayern’s third goal in the 70th minute during what is expected to be his final season with the club. “We scored at the perfect moment and effectively sealed the game,” Kane noted.

Bayern’s win significantly reduces the chances of being overtaken by Borussia Dortmund, especially considering their superior goal difference. Dortmund, after defeating Mainz 4-0 for their sixth consecutive league win, will next face RB Leipzig, while Bayern will host Eintracht Frankfurt in the 23rd round before the much-anticipated “der Klassiker” against Dortmund in two weeks.
