SC Heerenveen is making every effort to ensure that the match against Feyenoord proceeds as scheduled this coming Sunday afternoon, with kickoff set for 12:00 PM. However, Robin van Persie has expressed some reservations.

At the Abe Lenstra Stadium, volunteers are busy clearing snow, and both the field heating system and growth lights are being utilized. Groundsman Gertjan Hilarius stated in an interview with Omroep Friesland, “It is crucial that we get the field cleared today.” Time is of the essence; while temperatures are above freezing today, they are expected to drop to -5 degrees tomorrow, which would freeze the grass and complicate maintenance efforts.

Van Persie, a fellow competitor, has voiced his concerns, saying, “We are eager to play if it is safe to do so. My only hesitation regarding Sunday’s match pertains to our supporters. They will have to travel, and with the wind chill, temperatures could feel as low as -10 degrees. Although the regulations suggest we should play, the safety of our fans is my primary concern.”
