In the penultimate match of 2025, SC Heerenveen achieved an impressive cup victory in their away game against Feyenoord, finishing with a score of 2-3. However, coach Robin van Persie refrains from labeling this triumph at De Kuip as the highlight of the year.

Robin Veldman, also discussing the match, does not view the away game against Feyenoord as his peak moment. “While many would argue that the match at De Kuip was the most beautiful for me, I find a deeper connection with the home victory against AZ,” Veldman stated in an interview with Omrop Fryslân, referring to their 3-1 win. “That victory aligns much more closely with the style of football I aspire to play. Winning at De Kuip is certainly a result to be proud of, but it required significant defensive efforts. We managed to contain our opponents effectively, conceding very few opportunities.”

For the Heerenveen coach, fulfilling a dream involves prioritizing entertainment. “I want to ensure that our supporters are entertained. I feel this pressure more acutely than the need to simply win. Families investing five hundred euros for a season ticket deserve to be entertained. I have no interest in playing dull, defensive football; instead, I aim to showcase beautiful, engaging play. Ultimately, football is about entertainment for me, and I strive to deliver it in the best possible manner. That sense of responsibility is palpable.”
