Reigan Heskey, son of former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey, continued his impressive form from the previous match against Haiti by scoring an early goal for England.

The Manchester City forward skillfully maneuvered across the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a curling low shot that found the bottom corner, giving the Young Lions a promising lead.

Egypt, who entered the match with four points from their prior two games, had their chances and appealed for a penalty shortly after the half-hour mark. Anas Roshdy went down in the penalty area under pressure from Louis Page and Dante Headley, but the referee dismissed the claims after a comprehensive video review.

Video Assistance came into play again late in the first half when Chizaram Ezenwata avoided a red card for a sliding challenge on the Egyptian goalkeeper. Just before halftime, Egypt found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside after England’s goalkeeper, Jack Porter, made crucial saves from a free-kick and a follow-up shot by Hamza El Degawy, maintaining England’s lead.

At the beginning of the second half, Porter was tested again, making a fingertip save to thwart another free-kick from Bela Attia that was heading toward the goal as Egypt ramped up the pressure.

However, England countered effectively, securing a second goal on the break. Heskey, again at the forefront, sprinted clear on goal following excellent play from Lucá Williams-Barnett and finished confidently through the goalkeeper’s legs to net his second.

Heskey was presented with a golden opportunity to complete his hat-trick minutes later when Williams-Barnett won a penalty. Unfortunately, his spot-kick was well saved by Abdelaziz, and despite being first to the rebound, he could not extend his tally. England sealed the victory in the 89th minute when Heskey’s teammate, Harrison Miles, sped down the right wing and beat Abdelaziz at his near post.

Despite missing a penalty, Heskey’s two goals earned him the MVP award, highlighting his significant contribution to the match. His initial goal established England’s dominance, while the second was vital in a period when Egypt was threatening to equalize. Additionally, credit is due to Arsenal’s Jack Porter, whose stellar saves were instrumental in keeping Egypt at bay during critical moments of the game.

Egypt’s standout player, Bela Attia, had prime opportunities from set-pieces to draw his team back into contention but was thwarted by Porter, who demonstrated remarkable form, denying Attia on two occasions—the best chances Egypt had throughout the match.
