Florian Plettenberg reports that Irish striker Michael Noonan will not be joining TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The Bundesliga club had been actively pursuing the 17-year-old Ireland U21 international; however, Plettenberg states that Noonan’s family was not supportive of his move to Germany.

Despite this setback, Noonan may still depart from Shamrock Rovers during the current transfer window, likely opting for a destination that allows him to remain close to his relatives. Meanwhile, Hoffenheim is redirecting their attention to alternative targets.

The Hoffenheim reserves recently faced a loss as their leading goalscorer, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab, made a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt at the beginning of this January transfer window.

Plettenberg highlights that the Bundesliga club is still actively seeking new attacking players to bolster the TSG II squad.

In an interesting development, Plettenberg mentions RB Leipzig’s prospect, Yannick Eduardo, as a potential candidate. The Angolan-Czech striker has yet to make a Bundesliga appearance for Leipzig and is currently on his third loan in the Netherlands.

Leipzig could potentially recall Eduardo early from his loan with FC Dordrecht and consider lending him to a German club for the first time. Eduardo has been excelling in the Dutch second division this season.
