Hoffenheim has officially confirmed two significant striker transactions. Yannick Eduardo, a center-forward from RB Leipzig, will join the club via a loan from the Dutch team Dordrecht. Additionally, Mërgim Berisha has completed his transfer to 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Despite Eduardo’s transfer costing Hoffenheim over €2 million, he will initially join the Hoffenheim reserves in the 3. Liga, alongside fellow new signing Luis Engelns. Frank Kramer, the TSG academy director, was responsible for welcoming Eduardo, while RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, also offered an official farewell to the player, who has been loaned out three times.

“Yannick is a fast center forward with strong aerial abilities who brings a significant goal-scoring threat and fits well into our playing style,” Kramer stated in a club announcement. “He has demonstrated this with his goals in the first half of the season. He will gain valuable playing experience in our U23 team while developing with the goal of reaching Bundesliga level.”

Schafer added, “Yannick has developed excellently in the Netherlands and has made important strides in his professional career. This is precisely what we hoped for from the loan. We wish him all the best and every success in his future endeavors, even if his path doesn’t lead back to Leipzig. We are pleased to have contributed another player to the Bundesliga.”

In a separate development, Kaiserslautern has acquired Berisha as an immediate replacement for their leading goal-scorer, Ivan Prtajin, who has sustained a season-ending ACL injury. Hoffenheim will not collect a transfer fee for the 27-year-old as his contract has been dissolved. However, the club has secured a 30 percent re-sale guarantee should Berisha successfully revive his career.

“This is a very appealing environment,” Berisha remarked in his welcome statement to FCK. “I look forward to repaying the trust placed in me through my performances on the pitch.”
