In-beom Hwang Reflects on Premier League Aspirations Amidst Feyenoord’s Injury Challenges

On paper, Feyenoord’s midfield appears robust and well-staffed. However, due to numerous injuries, Robin van Persie faces the challenge of reconfiguring the lineup. Fortunately, he has recently regained the services of In-beom Hwang, who had previously attracted interest from Fulham FC last summer.

In-beom Hwang expressed his enthusiasm regarding the potential transfer, noting that playing in the Premier League is a dream for every player. “As I mentioned at the start of the season, I am very happy here, but it is a dream for any player to compete at that level, especially for Korean players. I am currently at a significant club, and I have previously stated that the interest from clubs like Fulham is largely due to my time at Feyenoord. I genuinely believe that. Before joining this team, I performed exceptionally at Olympiakos and Red Star Belgrade, but I did not receive serious offers then. Now, things have changed.”

Hwang is not the only one grappling with injuries. He commented on his own recovery process, stating, “I can only explain my injury. I suffered an injury and then dedicated myself to working hard to return. Naturally, as a player, you want to avoid prolonged absences, so you push yourself. Unfortunately, this led to another issue on the opposite side of my body. I have learned to manage my recovery more wisely.”
