Nico Schlotterbeck’s participation for Germany in the upcoming match against Luxembourg is now confirmed to be in jeopardy after he sustained a laceration during Borussia Dortmund’s draw with Hamburg. Following a Monday press conference, Julian Nagelsmann provided an update on Schlotterbeck’s condition, stating, “It swelled up quite a bit overnight and, to be honest, his foot doesn’t look too good.”

Reports from Bild indicate that Schlotterbeck will indeed miss the Luxembourg game and is also doubtful for the subsequent fixture against Slovakia. In his absence, fellow Dortmund player Waldemar Anton is expected to start alongside Jonathan Tah in the defense.

Additionally, Karim Adeyemi will be sidelined due to a suspension following the accumulation of three yellow cards, ruling him out for Friday’s match. Nadiem Amiri has also withdrawn from the national team due to injury, leading to a first call-up for RB Leipzig’s Assan Ouédraogo.
