Ivan Toney: A Strong Contender for England’s World Cup Squad

His team has remained unbeaten since the start of his scoring streak, propelling them into contention for the title after a shaky beginning to the season.

Despite his impressive stats and suitability as Kane’s backup, there are concerns regarding Toney’s recent off-field issues, including an incident where he was arrested following an altercation at a nightclub. This situation could raise questions about his temperament, especially considering his previous eight-month ban for violating FA betting regulations.

Nonetheless, his achievements in the Saudi Pro League, especially outscoring elite players like Ronaldo and Benzema, merit serious consideration for inclusion in the national squad. With a lack of reliable attacking options available to Tuchel, Toney’s inclusion appears increasingly necessary as the World Cup approaches.
