Jadon Sancho’s career has been declining since his fallout with former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, which led to his exclusion from the first team at the beginning of the 2023-24 season. In January 2024, Sancho was loaned back to his previous club, Borussia Dortmund, but returned to Manchester United that summer.

Subsequently, he was sent on a season-long loan to Chelsea, where he failed to regain his form, prompting the Blues to opt against a permanent transfer. The Red Devils struggled to identify permanent suitors during the summer, relegating Sancho to the ‘Bomb Squad’. Ultimately, he secured a loan deal with Aston Villa. However, he has only started three matches for the Villans, leading to renewed speculation about his future.

Recent reports from Caughtoffside indicate that Sancho and his representatives were seen in Istanbul during the international break, engaging in discussions with officials from three prominent Turkish Super Lig clubs: Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Galatasaray. These meetings took place at a luxury hotel, where each club outlined their long-term vision and plans for the English winger.

Currently, it remains uncertain which club is in the lead to permanently sign the United outcast in the upcoming January transfer window. However, it has been reported that Sancho is willing to accept a significant pay cut. His current contract with United reportedly earns him £13 million per season, but he is prepared to reduce this to around £7-8 million.

Additionally, Sport Bild has reported that Borussia Dortmund is also considering a move for Sancho in January. Manchester United is open to selling him if a fair price can be negotiated. Despite his recent struggles, Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, and CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, continue to hold a strong interest in the 25-year-old. However, concerns remain regarding his integration into the squad, particularly under current coach Niko Kovac, who does not typically favor traditional wingers. Furthermore, the club is wary of Sancho’s physical condition, which has significantly impacted his performance at Villa Park.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer recently expressed his concerns about Sancho’s attitude and behavior on the field. Speaking to Betfair, Shearer remarked, “I don’t know what’s going on with Jadon Sancho regarding his training or personal life, but he has a chance at Villa now. If it doesn’t work out, people will reflect on the numerous opportunities he has received. Hard work is essential; he must focus and adjust his attitude to turn things around.”

Aston Villa is set to return to Premier League action this Sunday against Leeds.
