Jasper Cillessen Embraces Backup Role at NEC

This season, Jasper Cillessen has adapted to a backup role at NEC. After returning to the club last summer, he was not assigned the primary goalkeeper position.

Cillessen has accepted his situation at NEC. He previously trained as a free agent with De Treffers. “It was nearby,” he shared with Omroep Gelderland. “I know Theo Janssen well and have a strong rapport with the people at the club. My collaboration with Adrie Broks, the goalkeeping coach, was fantastic, and I still maintain good contact with him. Then this wonderful opportunity arose.”
