Javi Puado Undergoes Successful Knee SurgeryJavi Puado Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Javi Puado underwent surgery yesterday, with Espanyol announcing later that evening that the team’s captain had successfully addressed his knee injury.

Last weekend, the blanquiazul forward suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a match against Levante. The injury occurred in an unfortunate incident when he collided with an opponent.

Puado was treated at the Cugat Institute by Dr. Cugat’s team, specialists in this type of injury. In the coming days, he will start the initial phase of his recovery, a process that is expected to be lengthy and gradual. However, Puado is no stranger to recovery, having previously overcome a serious knee injury during his formative years and returning stronger than before.

Before his surgery, Javi Puado took to social media to express his gratitude for the numerous supportive messages he received from fans and teammates alike. He acknowledged that this setback presents both a challenge and an opportunity for learning—an experience he is prepared to face, confident he will emerge stronger.

This season has proven to be challenging for the Dani Jarque-trained athlete, who has faced more setbacks than usual. After missing a significant portion of the first half of the season due to knee issues, he now finds himself sidelined for the remainder of the year.
