Javi Rueda has officially extended his contract with Celta, ensuring his stay at the club until 2029. This extension adds two more seasons to his agreement, which was originally set to expire in June 2027.

The talented player from Málaga joined Celta in the 2023-24 season, initially to play for the club’s reserve team. He made his debut in La Liga on May 26, 2024, at Estadio Balaídos against Valencia, in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Last season, Rueda was loaned to Albacete, where he had an impressive campaign that paved the way for his inclusion in Celta’s first team this year. He has reunited with coach Claudio Giráldez, who has unwavering confidence in Rueda’s abilities and potential at just 23 years of age.

Despite facing a three-week injury setback this season, Rueda has participated in eleven official matches, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

The club has expressed its enthusiasm regarding Rueda’s contract extension in an official statement, highlighting his physical prowess, speed, and ability to reach the byline, which make him well-suited for modern football. This renewal strengthens Celta’s commitment to a player with significant potential.
