Jeremy Jacquet Set for Medical at Liverpool Ahead of Summer MoveJeremy Jacquet Set for Medical at Liverpool Ahead of Summer Move

Jeremy Jacquet has been named in the Under-19 Euros Team of the Tournament for 2024.

Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet is poised to undergo a medical examination at Liverpool, as part of a prospective £60 million transfer to Anfield. However, it is important to note that the centre-back will not be joining the club during the current transfer window.

Should the transfer be finalized, the 20-year-old will officially become a player for Liverpool in the summer, following an agreement between the two clubs on a £55 million fee plus an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons.

The French Under-21 international is expected to sign a five-year contract, extending until the summer of 2031, with the option for an additional year.

Although Chelsea has reportedly held discussions with Jacquet during the winter transfer window, sources indicate that they will not match Liverpool’s offer.

Liverpool aims to strengthen their centre-back options, especially with the current contract of France defender Ibrahima Konate set to expire at the conclusion of this season.

Last summer, Arne Slot’s side missed the opportunity to acquire Marc Guehi, who subsequently chose to join Manchester City in January.

Having risen through the ranks of the Rennes academy, Jacquet has made 18 appearances for the club this season. His series of standout performances has made him a target for some of Europe’s top clubs, with Liverpool viewing him as a long-term investment.
