Jordi Cruijff Appointed as Ajax’s New Technical Director

As the son of legendary player Johan Cruijff, he will be tasked with the important responsibility of appointing a new head coach this coming summer. In the recent SoccerNews podcast Transfermind, Xavi Hernández’s name was mentioned, as he is someone Cruijff is well acquainted with.

Within approximately one week, Cruijff will formally assume the role of technical director at Ajax, succeeding Alex Kroes, who will now seek a new opportunity. Cruijff’s primary challenge will be to identify a suitable head coach for the next season. It has already been confirmed that Fred Grim will complete the current season, providing Cruijff ample time to secure the right candidate during the summer. Given his history with FC Barcelona, Cruijff is naturally linked to various options within his Spanish network.

Another potential candidate for Ajax is Dick Schreuder, the current coach of NEC, who previously worked in Spain with CD Castellón.
