Jordi Cruijff Appointed as Ajax’s Technical Director

omidbasir- Jordi Cruijff has been officially appointed as the technical director of Ajax. The Amsterdam club announced his arrival on Sunday evening, although he will officially begin his new role in February, succeeding Alex Kroes. A significant advantage of his appointment is the expansion of Ajax’s international network.

Ajax is poised to strengthen its connections with prominent names in the football industry. According to De Telegraaf, “Jordi shares the same football philosophy as his father, is willing to trade the warm climate of Spain for our cooler country, and is content with the salary offered by Ajax, despite potentially earning much more abroad.” The club’s management quickly reached a consensus regarding his appointment, with the board of directors unanimously endorsing the recommendation from the supervisory board.

In addition to his new role, Cruijff has expressed further ambitions. “Jordi wants to refocus Ajax’s efforts on youth development. He aims to establish a model similar to that of FC Barcelona, which includes the Juvenil A (Under 19), Barça B, and the first team, to ensure that Ajax’s top talents progress to the senior team as effectively and swiftly as possible.”
