The former president stated that he would never have appointed Robin van Persie as head coach, emphasizing that the club’s management needs to assess their decisions if the Rotterdam team concludes the season poorly.

Van den Herik was not in favor of Van Persie’s appointment, who succeeded Brian Priske last season. He remarked, “I don’t want to label this as a sore point, but I believe the issue at Feyenoord is that they have taken too many risks. While that is permissible, there must be accountability for those decisions. I would never have made the choice to appoint Van Persie,” he candidly expressed during an interview with Goedemorgen Eredivisie on ESPN.
