Jude Bellingham has expressed his keen desire to return to the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers next week; however, he acknowledges that the selection process is beyond his control.

The Real Madrid midfielder was notably absent from last month’s qualifiers against Latvia and Wales, with coach Thomas Tuchel citing Bellingham’s limited game time due to shoulder surgery as the primary reason for his exclusion. This injury also prevented him from participating in England’s two qualifiers in September, marking his last appearance for the national team during the defeat to Senegal in June.

Tensions have surfaced between Bellingham and Tuchel following that match, particularly after the coach labeled Bellingham’s on-field conduct as “repulsive,” a statement he later regretted.

The England squad for the upcoming qualifiers against Serbia and Albania is set to be announced on Friday, and Tuchel has indicated his intention to reach out to Bellingham regarding his potential inclusion.

In an interview with Amazon Prime, Bellingham stated, “It’s not my call… I would love to be [picked] but it’s not my call. I’ll be waiting to see.”

Bellingham recently played on English soil when his team faced Liverpool in the Champions League; however, Tuchel was not present at the match.

It is worth noting that England has already secured its place in next year’s World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
