Julien Duranville Joins FC Basel on Loan from Borussia DortmundJulien Duranville Joins FC Basel on Loan from Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund has officially confirmed that winger Julien Duranville will be loaned to FC Basel. This confirmation aligns with earlier reports from Get German Football News and other sources regarding the terms of the loan agreement.

While FC Basel does not possess an option to purchase the 19-year-old player, they have secured a re-sale clause should Dortmund decide to sell Duranville in the future.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl expressed optimism about Duranville’s potential during the announcement, stating, “Julien has been with us in Dortmund for three years, but he is still a very young player in whom we continue to see great potential. However, due to injuries, among other factors, he has not had the opportunity to fully showcase his talent and abilities.”

Kehl further emphasized the benefits of this loan, remarking, “The move to FC Basel now offers him the chance to gain regular playing experience and continue his development. We believe this step is essential for his future prospects with BVB. We wish him every success during his time in Basel.”

Basel sporting director Daniel Stucki expressed enthusiasm about securing Duranville’s loan, noting the significance of attracting a player from a prestigious club like Dortmund. “We are very pleased to have convinced Julien to join Basel on loan. He is a strong dribbler and an explosive winger who has received excellent training at Anderlecht.”

Stucki added, “While Duranville had limited playing time at Borussia Dortmund recently, he will now have the opportunity to showcase his skills with us. For a young player, gaining experience at the highest level is crucial to advancing at a top club. We are confident that Julien will make an immediate impact, starting this Sunday.”

Expressing his enthusiasm, Duranville shared, “I am very happy that the loan to FC Basel has worked out. I had a very good feeling about this opportunity and quickly realized I wanted to pursue it. I have heard a lot about the atmosphere at St. Jakob Park, and I’m excited to join the team tomorrow.”
