Kervin Arriaga Apologizes for Red Card Incident Following Valencia MatchKervin Arriaga Apologizes for Red Card Incident Following Valencia Match

omidbasir- Honduran midfielder Kervin Arriaga publicly apologized to his teammates and fans on social media, emphasizing that the team gave their all on the pitch.

Arriaga was in the spotlight all week as the team prepared for the match against Valencia on Sunday. His performance during the game, however, did not unfold in the most favorable manner for the Orriols-based club.

After undergoing a medical protocol due to a significant head injury sustained in the previous match against Athletic Club, Arriaga was eventually included in the squad and started for the Blaugrana team.

Despite playing the full 90 minutes against the Mestalla side, Arriaga received a red card after accumulating two yellow cards for sarcastically applauding the referee in a display of dissent. This behavior resulted in his ejection from the match.

Following the incident and amid the challenging sporting phase for the Orriols club, Arriaga took to social media to express his regret for his conduct towards the referee and for leaving his team with one less player on the field.

“There isn’t much to say. I just want to apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, and all the fans who gave everything today on the field. I know there is much to improve and learn. However, we can only learn from our mistakes. My heartfelt apologies to everyone. Making mistakes is a human flaw, but it takes courage to apologize,” he posted.

In the referee’s report, it was noted that “player Kervin Arriaga continued to sarcastically applaud, necessitating intervention from his teammates.”

Prior to the match against Valencia, Arriaga had already received a total of four yellow cards throughout the season.
