Kim Min-jae Committed to Bayern Munich Despite Transfer Interest

Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae, 29, has recently attracted several transfer inquiries ahead of the January window, but he intends to stay at the Allianz Arena, according to Sky Germany.

The South Korean defender has received an offer from his former club, Fenerbahçe, along with interest from various Italian teams. However, Kim has decided to decline all offers.

Since joining Bayern from Napoli for €50 million in July 2023, Kim has played a limited role under coach Vincent Kompany, starting in six of his nine Bundesliga appearances. Nevertheless, he is determined to continue with the club at least until the conclusion of the current season.

Kompany seems to favor a defensive pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah, and with the returns of Hiroki Itō and Alphonso Davies, Kim may experience a reduction in his playing time in the Bundesliga. In addition, he had attracted interest from Liverpool and AC Milan during the summer transfer window.

Kim’s contract with Bayern is set to run until 2028.
