omidbasir- Joshua Kimmich has stated that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is the toughest opponent Bayern Munich has encountered this season, despite their recent 3-1 Champions League loss to Arsenal. Kimmich noted that Mikel Arteta’s squad tends to “rely on set pieces” and prefers to play long balls.

Bayern Munich experienced their first defeat of the season on Wednesday at the Emirates Stadium, where goals from Jurriën Timber, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli secured a victory for Arsenal.

While Vincent Kompany’s team managed to defeat the reigning champions PSG 2-1 earlier this month, Kimmich believes that PSG presented a greater challenge and provided a more engaging match.

“No, I don’t think so,” Kimmich responded to a question from TNT Sport regarding whether Arsenal was the toughest team Bayern faced this year. “I think PSG was the toughest one, especially considering their style of play.

“Arsenal is completely different. They rely on set pieces. They love to play long balls and compete for second balls. The game against PSG was distinctly more about football.

“Today was less about football and more about game management and duels. Arsenal executed this exceptionally well tonight. Their victory was well deserved, but we have to learn from this experience.”

Timber’s goal was scored from a corner taken by Bukayo Saka, while Martinelli’s third goal resulted from a long counter-attack.

Kimmich’s remarks come on the heels of Arteta declaring that Arsenal triumphed over the “best side in Europe” in Bayern Munich.
