Kobbie Mainoo was once regarded as ‘the next big thing‘ at Manchester United, yet under manager Rúben Amorim, he has found it challenging to secure playing time. A transfer may be the solution to his current predicament.

There are speculations about Mainoo moving to Feyenoord during the winter transfer window. The 20-year-old’s market value is estimated at around forty million euros; however, this season, he has only played 228 minutes for The Red Devils. Despite being part of England’s national team for the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany, he has not received recent call-ups from head coach Thomas Tuchel, which is largely due to his lack of on-field opportunities.

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville addressed Mainoo’s situation in a recent podcast, stating: “It is evident that Amorim does not currently see Mainoo as a key player. He starts with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, then brings in Mount and Ugarte before considering Mainoo. This indicates that he is the fourth choice. This situation is a challenge that needs to be addressed.”
