Kodai Sano s Transfer Situation and Club InterestsKodai Sano s Transfer Situation and Club Interests

Kodai Sano has been linked to several clubs, including PSV, Feyenoord, and FSV Mainz 05. However, NEC is determined not to part with the Japanese player in January, setting his asking price at a staggering €20 million.

The hefty price tag has come as a surprise to Sano himself. In an interview with De Volkskrant, he remarked, “€20 million? That seems excessive to me. I am modest and have only scored a few goals and provided a handful of assists. Robin Roefs was transferred to Sunderland for €10 million, right? In my opinion, €20 million is too much for me; I would need to have ten goals and fifteen assists to justify that price.”

In addition to Sano, several players from NEC have attracted attention from various clubs. Earlier this month, transfer journalist Mounir Boualin from SoccerNews reported that Basar Önal was also drawing interest, with potential suitors including Besiktas and another club from the Süper Lig, as well as a bid from Italy’s Pisa. However, the attacking midfielder opted to decline these offers, a decision that NEC is likely pleased with.
