LaLiga Takes Action Against Racism at Mestalla Stadium

LaLiga has requested to participate in the legal proceedings against the individual dubbed ‘the racist from sector 5 of Mestalla,’ as reported by journalist José Manuel Bort, who initially brought the matter to light. The Valencia Hate Crimes Prosecutor’s Office opened the case following Bort’s complaint, and LaLiga has decided to intervene, as it has done in similar cases in the past.

The audio recordings published by ‘Levante-EMV’ have been crucial for LaLiga to take this step, as they now have substantial evidence to support their involvement. Although the Prosecutor’s Office has yet to initiate formal proceedings, this is expected to occur in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Valencia CF has chosen to initiate expulsion proceedings against the accused from Mestalla, although they have not yet opted to join the legal action initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office. The club had been aware of the incidents for several months but was unable to confirm them until recently.

Witnesses seated near the complainant have expressed their willingness to testify in support of the allegations. Should the accused be found guilty, they could face a prison sentence of up to four years.
