Lance Duijvestijn Joins Fortuna Sittard on Loan

Lance Duijvestijn has secured a new club, marking his seventh employer in the Netherlands. The midfielder will play for Fortuna Sittard for the remainder of the season.

Duijvestijn is transferring on loan from Sparta, where he had found himself sidelined, particularly following the arrival of Vito van Crooij. The 27-year-old playmaker expressed his enthusiasm: “I am extremely happy to be here. Fortuna is a wonderful club with healthy ambitions. I see this as a great opportunity to showcase my abilities and be a key player for the team. From our first contact, it felt right, and I cannot wait to get started.”

In Limburg, he will face competition from players like Mohamed Ihattaren and Alen Halilovic, who has recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff. Halilovic, who had been out since April 2025, marked his comeback with an assist to Justin Hubner. “I am glad to be back; we managed to secure a point in a challenging situation,” the Croatian midfielder stated in an interview with ESPN.
