Legal Troubles Continue for Villarreal’s Thomas Partey

The Ghanaian midfielder is scheduled to appear again before the Westminster Court in March. Consequently, his legal troubles are escalating as he is currently being investigated for five counts of rape, along with an additional charge of sexual assault.

The new charges against Partey date back to 2021 and 2022. He previously attended an initial hearing at the start of the season, where he pleaded not guilty, and is set to appear in a British court in November regarding those charges. For the latest allegations, he is required to show up on March 13.

Partey’s transfer to Villarreal was not without controversy, as the club leaned on the presumption of innocence when signing him. He is currently out on bail, which allows him to continue his career as a footballer. However, his performance with the yellow team has been disappointing, with Marcelino recently stating that Partey has not been demonstrating the requisite level to compete at the elite level.
