Liverpool Football Club has officially signed 18-year-old defender Mor Talla Ndiaye in a deal valued at approximately £1 million. This relatively modest fee reflects the club’s commitment to strengthening its youth ranks, as Ndiaye will integrate into Page’s Under-21 squad with the hope of making a significant impact and eventually transitioning to the senior team.

In an official statement, Liverpool announced: “Liverpool have completed the signing of defender Mor Talla Ndiaye, subject to international clearance. The Senegalese youth centre-back, who celebrated his 18th birthday earlier this month, joins the Reds’ Under-21 side from Amitie FC in Senegal.”

Ndiaye has showcased his talent on the international stage, representing Senegal at the FIFA U17 World Cup in November, where he made four appearances and helped his team progress to the knockout stages. Additionally, he has also played for the Senegal U18 team.

His former academy expressed their pride and support for the young player, stating: “Ndiaye embodies the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance that we instill in our young talents. His journey is a source of pride for the entire Academy and serves as an inspiration for future generations. We wish him success in this new chapter of his career and are confident that he will represent his country, his education, and all who have believed in him with dignity. Good luck, Mor; the story has just begun.”

Ndiaye’s acquisition underscores Liverpool’s strategic approach to enhancing depth within Page’s youth squad. The club has also signed 19-year-old centre-back Noah Adekoya from Burnley and is reportedly interested in Austria Vienna defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe. Currently, Liverpool stands 14th in Premier League 2, with a record of four wins and five losses from their first ten matches.

As Ndiaye acclimatizes to his new environment, he hopes to impress manager Page, aiming for a future opportunity to play for Arne Slot’s first team at Anfield.
