The Athletic reports that a tribunal has mandated Liverpool to pay a total of £2.8 million for Ngumoha, with potential add-ons reaching £4 million. This fee is non-negotiable. Ngumoha, who signed with Liverpool in September 2024 at just 16 years old, has prompted Chelsea to claim compensation for his training and development. Ultimately, Liverpool may owe up to £6.8 million if various performance bonuses are achieved, along with 20 percent of any profit from a future sale.

As an England Under-19 international with four caps, Ngumoha has made an impressive start to his career at Anfield. Since joining, he has accumulated 14 first-team appearances and has already scored his inaugural senior goal, which secured a dramatic victory against Newcastle in the 100th minute of a Premier League match.

Manager Arne Slot addressed Ngumoha’s playing time, emphasizing his unique talent. “I think he has the most minutes of any 17-year-old in the Premier League, which speaks volumes about both his playing time and his exceptional abilities at such a young age,” Slot stated. He added, “This also reflects the current availability in our squad. For this weekend, that position is not my primary concern.”

Slot further noted, “Every training session reveals the extent of his abilities. He excels in one-on-one situations, possesses remarkable agility, and can change directions swiftly. I am always delighted when a player showcases what we observe in training during their debut, allowing the fans to appreciate his talent.”

Ngumoha made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history with his goal against Newcastle, expressing his joy: “I’m thrilled to score, especially the winner. It’s a special moment. Last season, the academy and first-team coaches emphasized the importance of positioning at the back post, and I’m grateful I executed that. When I saw the ball move through to me, I just struck it. Hearing the fans chant my name was incredible.”

At 16, Ngumoha remains determined to prove he can compete with players of all ages. “I’m eager to show that my age doesn’t limit my capabilities. I’m continually learning and improving with the support of my teammates and coaching staff,” he said.

Looking ahead, Liverpool is set to face Manchester City in a crucial match this weekend, and Ngumoha will hope to play a significant role.
