Liverpool s Summer Signings Hampered by Injuries Says Head CoachLiverpool s Summer Signings Hampered by Injuries Says Head Coach

Liverpool has yet to fully capitalize on its substantial summer transfer spending due to a string of injuries, according to head coach Arne Slot.

British record signing Alexander Isak arrived at the club lacking match fitness and has faced ongoing fitness issues, culminating in a broken leg that will sideline him for at least two months.

In addition, centre-back Giovanni Leoni suffered a season-ending knee injury during his debut, while Jeremie Frimpong has been limited to just five starts in 11 matches due to a recurring hamstring problem.

These three players were acquired in deals totaling nearly £200 million, representing close to half of the club’s summer expenditure.

“A lot has been discussed regarding the significant funds we’ve invested,” Slot commented. “However, regrettably, we have not been able to utilize all of that investment due to the injuries sustained by these players.”
