Luis Castro Takes the Helm at LevanteLuis Castro Takes the Helm at Levante

Luis Castro has officially arrived in Valencia. The new head coach of Levante touched down at Manises Airport this afternoon, ready to lead the team in their challenging quest for survival in the top tier of Spanish football.

“I come with great enthusiasm and the conviction that we can achieve much together. This club is significant, and collectively we can make it happen,” Castro remarked upon his arrival at the terminal in Valencia.

The new coach acknowledged that the club’s readiness for the transfer market was not a precondition for his appointment, asserting that Levante possesses a solid squad. “This was not one of the conditions for my coming here. I chose this club because I believe it is historic and has a strong identity. However, it is evident that, like all clubs, if we can secure good signings, we will. But it was not a condition for me. I believe we have a good squad. We can certainly achieve more with additional signings, yet this team has fought hard and has not recorded very poor results. With just a bit more, I believe we can improve our outcomes.”

Castro also stated that he has not yet spoken with his new players but has made contact with club officials. “I have communicated with the club’s staff, but I prefer to speak with the players in person. I want to get to know them and discuss my thoughts, their perspectives, and what we need to change.”

The new coach will lead his first training session on Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol, as the team prepares for the upcoming match against Sevilla at Sánchez Pizjuán for the 19th round of La Liga.
