Inter Miami forward Luis Suárez has been suspended for one match, following disciplinary action from Major League Soccer (MLS), due to an incident that occurred during the second half of a playoff match against Nashville SC on November 1. Suárez received the suspension for kicking Nashville’s Andy Nájar, despite the referee not issuing any card for the incident at the time.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee stated, “Luis Suárez of Inter Miami CF has been suspended for one match and fined an undisclosed amount under Disciplinary Committee Parameter 3 for violent conduct in the 71st minute of the match against Nashville SC on November 1. He will serve his suspension during the match on November 8, against the same team.”

It is important to note that MLS regulations permit post-game disciplinary measures when a match official fails to penalize a player for an infraction during the game.

This marks Suárez’s second suspension in MLS in 2025; he previously received a three-match ban for spitting on a member of the Seattle Sounders’ staff following the Leagues Cup final on August 31.

As Inter Miami prepares for the decisive final match of the playoff series, currently tied at 1-1 after winning one game and losing the other, they will have to compete without Suárez in their efforts to advance to the next round of the postseason.
