The captains of Manchester City have announced their decision to refund the ticket costs for nearly 400 supporters who journeyed to Norway for the team’s 3-1 defeat against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League.

In a statement, Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri expressed that this gesture was “the least they could do” for the fans who traveled to the Arctic Circle, especially following a disappointing performance by Pep Guardiola’s squad on Tuesday.

The refund for the 374 tickets totals nearly £10,000 ($13,400).

Speaking on behalf of the team, the leadership group stated: “Our supporters mean everything to us. We understand the sacrifices our fans make to support us both home and away, and we will never take that for granted. They are the best fans in the world.

“We also acknowledge the considerable effort involved for those fans who braved the harsh conditions to support us during a challenging match. Covering the cost of these tickets for those who traveled to Bodø is the least we can do.

“We are determined to fight for our upcoming match against Wolves on Saturday, and again next Wednesday when we face Galatasaray at the Etihad in front of our incredible supporters.”
