Marc Guehi Potential January Transfer Amid Premier League InterestMarc Guehi Potential January Transfer Amid Premier League Interest

Marc Guehi, the Crystal Palace defender and captain, is attracting interest from various European clubs and could be sold this month, as reported by BBC Sport. Guehi’s contract is set to expire this summer, and with the player unwilling to extend his stay at the London club, Crystal Palace may consider selling him now to avoid losing him for free later.

According to TransferMarkt, Guehi’s current market value is approximately €55 million. The reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, are contemplating a bid for Guehi this month due to potential long-term injuries affecting key defenders Joško Gvardiol and Ruben Dias. This situation might prompt other major clubs to enter the fray, especially those who were initially inclined to wait until the summer.

In addition, Liverpool has shown considerable interest in Guehi, having nearly secured his signature last summer before the deal fell through on the final day of the transfer window. Bayern Munich is also closely monitoring the situation, having previously expressed interest in the player.

While Bayern Munich has indicated a reluctance to engage in winter transfers, citing the return of players like Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala from injury, the club may need to reevaluate its stance should they wish to secure Guehi and strengthen their defensive line this calendar year.

Furthermore, Guehi could potentially enter into a pre-agreement with an overseas club this month. Such a move might provide Bayern with a competitive advantage over Premier League clubs if Guehi prefers a transition to the Bundesliga.
