Marc Guehi to Miss England s World Cup Qualifiers Due to InjuryMarc Guehi to Miss England s World Cup Qualifiers Due to Injury

Defender Marc Guehi is set to miss England’s final two World Cup qualifying matches due to a foot injury sustained during Crystal Palace’s recent Conference League victory, which has rendered him unable to walk.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed the severity of the injury on Sunday, just before their Premier League match against Brighton, revealing that Guehi is dealing with a significant bone bruise.

The injury occurred at the conclusion of the 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, when Guehi received a yellow card for a foul. Glasner stated, “Overnight he couldn’t sleep due to the pain, and upon assessment the following day, it was determined to be a heavy bone bruise.”

He added, “He has been on crutches for the past two days and is unable to place weight on his foot. Fortunately, there are no fractures; however, at this moment, he cannot walk. It appears he will miss England’s upcoming matches, but we hope that in 10-14 days he can return to training.”

England has already secured qualification for next year’s World Cup and is scheduled to face Serbia at Wembley on Thursday, followed by a match against Albania in Tirana the following Sunday.

England’s players are expected to report for training on Monday, and Guehi was included in manager Thomas Tuchel’s squad, alongside fellow center-backs John Stones, Ezri Konsa, and Jarell Quansah.
