Celtic midfielder Maria McAneny has been selected for the Scotland women’s national team for the first time. She will participate in friendly matches against Ukraine and China.

At just 21 years old, McAneny has previously represented Scotland at the Under-23 level. This marks an important milestone in her career as she joins the senior squad.

Melissa Andreatta’s team will face Ukraine in Jerez, Spain, on Friday at 11:00 GMT, followed by a match against China on December 2 at 18:00, also at the Estadio Municipal de Chapin.

Recently, Scotland experienced mixed results in international friendlies, suffering a defeat at home against Switzerland after securing an away victory over Morocco.

Looking ahead to 2026, Scotland is set to compete against Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg in World Cup qualifying matches.

The squad for the upcoming friendlies includes:
