Marin Ljubicic Joins Fortuna Düsseldorf on Loan from Union Berlin

Union Berlin striker Marin Ljubicic’s loan transfer to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga has been officially confirmed. As previously reported, this loan agreement does not include an option for purchase, with Bundesliga’s Union Berlin looking forward to welcoming the 23-year-old back at the end of the season.

Ljubicic, who has netted two goals in just 20 minutes of play for Union this season, is expected to significantly bolster Düsseldorf’s struggling attack. The team currently faces relegation, having scored only 17 goals in 19 matches this season.

Sven Mislintat, the sporting director of Fortuna Düsseldorf, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “With Marin, we are gaining a versatile offensive player who is both dangerous in front of goal and creates chances for others.”
