Logan commenced the midweek edition of Match of the Day by presenting the highlights of Bournemouth’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham at the Vitality Stadium. He also took a moment to honor the late Martin Chivers, the revered UEFA Cup-winning Spurs legend, who passed away at the age of 80.

Following this, Logan transitioned viewers to the highlights of the Manchester City versus Brighton match, which ended in a 1-1 draw. However, during the studio segment, Logan had to be substituted by Chapman, who had just concluded his radio commitments.

Chapman addressed the unexpected change, stating, “We’ll discuss that game shortly, but unfortunately, Gabby has had to leave due to a family emergency. I’ve come from the radio to take over the show.”

At the beginning of Match of the Day, Logan was joined by former Liverpool players Stephen Warnock and Danny Murphy as they navigated a packed evening of Premier League action. In a poignant update, it was revealed that Logan’s father, Terry, had passed away following a brief illness. The family released a heartfelt statement, saying, “To most, he was a revered footballing hero, but to us, he was Dad; a quiet, kind, and gentle man. Our hearts are broken, but we find solace in knowing he will be reunited with our brother, Daniel.”

Terry Yorath, born in Cardiff, was a significant figure in football, having played for the celebrated Leeds team that clinched the First Division title under Don Revie in 1974. His career included stints at Coventry, Tottenham, the Vancouver Whitecaps, and Bradford, alongside representing Wales 59 times.

Yorath’s managerial career featured a tenure with the Welsh national team, as well as positions with Swansea, Cardiff, Bradford, Sheffield Wednesday, and the Lebanon national team.

This season, Logan has been co-hosting Match of the Day with Chapman and Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates. This trio has stepped in to cover the role after Gary Lineker’s departure from the BBC following a 25-year tenure.
