Max Huiberts Announces Departure from AZ After Eleven Seasons

Huiberts will officially conclude his role on July 1, 2026. He stated, “I feel that it is time to pass the baton this summer after eleven very enjoyable yet intensive seasons. This role demands complete, 24/7 dedication, and I realize that after this season, it is time for me to enjoy other aspects of life. I do so with peace of mind and great pride in what we have achieved together. AZ is, thanks to many pleasant and talented professionals, a fantastic club with a strong foundation and a promising future. I particularly want to mention Robert Eenhoorn, with whom I have worked very well for a long time. The phase AZ is currently in allows me to leave the club with a good feeling. AZ deserves someone who can invest the same energy over the coming years. After more than ten years in this demanding role, I feel the need to spend more time with my family and step back from the football world after this season.”
