omidbasir- In a celebration away from the public eye, Lionel Messi treated his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, to a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner complete with thoughtful gifts. Known for his preference for privacy, the 2022 World Cup winner made this special day memorable through simple yet meaningful gestures that quickly gained attention on social media.

Roccuzzo delighted fans by sharing glimpses of the evening on Instagram, featuring photos of their dinner, chocolate-covered strawberries adorned with a ‘LOVE’ tag, and a picturesque view of the Miami beach.

Among the gifts, Roccuzzo showcased a large stuffed teddy bear that Messi presented to her on Valentine’s Day, highlighting the couple’s enduring affection.

Having been childhood sweethearts, Messi and Roccuzzo have been married for nearly a decade, tying the knot in Rosario, Argentina, in June 2017. Roccuzzo has since emerged as a prominent figure in the celebrity world, representing Anastasia Beverly Hills, with founder Anastasia Soare praising her as a ‘modern woman.’

Soare noted, “What makes Antonela compelling is the balance. She is a devoted mother, a great partner, and a person with integrity.” In an interview with ELLE, Roccuzzo shared insights into her husband’s disciplined lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and healthy living: “My husband has to always be on a diet because of what he does. We have to eat healthy. We don’t drink alcohol and we don’t smoke. We try to have everything organic. It all comes together, with the exercise, the nutrition, and the mental health – it’s a way of living.”

Messi has expressed his desire for privacy, stating, “Obviously, when I enter into my house, with my family, I try to be a normal dad, a normal husband, like anybody else, assuming the responsibilities we all have. Inside my house, I am a very normal person, like anybody else. I discipline the children, I put limits, play and share with them, with my wife and I live a very normal life as well.”

He further described himself humorously, noting, “I’m weirder than sh*t. I really like being alone, I enjoy being alone. The mess at home with the three kids running around everywhere ends up saturating me and I like a moment of solitude. I’m very structured; if something unexpected happens, it can disrupt my entire day.”

On the field, Messi was instrumental in Inter Miami’s success last season, helping the team secure the MLS Cup in December. They triumphed over the Vancouver Whitecaps with a 3-1 victory at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Looking ahead, there is curiosity surrounding Messi’s participation in the upcoming World Cup. At 38, he expressed hope: “I hope I can be there. I’ve said before that I’d love to be there. At worst, I’ll be there watching it live, but it will be special. The World Cup is special for everyone, especially for us, because we live it in a completely different way.”

He also shared insights about discussions with Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni, indicating their strong rapport: “The truth is we’ve been talking about it. He understands, and we’ve discussed it a lot. He always tells me that he would like me to be there in any role. We have a relationship of great trust and we can talk about everything.”

As the 2026 MLS season approaches, Inter Miami is eager to defend their MLS Cup title, kicking off next weekend.
