Miguel Gal n Claims Support from Key Figures Before Filing Complaint Against Javier TebasMiguel Gal n Claims Support from Key Figures Before Filing Complaint Against Javier Tebas

omidbasir- Miguel Galán, the president of CENAFE and the individual behind the current complaint against Javier Tebas for alleged breaches of confidentiality, publicly asserted yesterday that he received prior approval from Joan Laporta, Florentino Pérez, and the Spanish government before proceeding with the legal action.

He confidently stated this in a post shared on his X account (formerly Twitter): “I represent the interests of some members of FC Barcelona who, alongside me, have filed the complaint. Before filing, both Mr. Laporta and Mr. Florentino Pérez gave their consent, as did the government. When I file a complaint, I do not jump into the pool without water.”

Galán supported his assertion with a screenshot from a 2024 interview he conducted with ABC, where he emphasized his role in disqualifying the last three presidents of the RFEF: Villar, Rubiales, and Rocha.

It is worth noting that last September, an Administrative Court ruled in favor of Pedro Rocha, overturning the disqualification imposed on him by the TAD. Rocha, who found himself in a vulnerable position following Galán’s complaint and the TAD’s decision—which was deemed “contrary to law” by the judiciary—claimed that the Court of Arbitration for Sport did not act in good faith or loyalty.

Now, the same TAD, which operates under the government (the very entity that approved the complaint’s filing), will address the alleged irregularities concerning Tebas. In the complaint, Galán—often referred to as ‘Querellator’—accuses the LaLiga president of having committed five serious violations of Article 76.2.a) of the Sports Law and breaching confidentiality obligations by violating Article 5 of the budget regulations for LaLiga clubs and Article 59.1B of the Sports Law.

Galán’s acknowledgment that his complaint has the tacit support of Laporta, Florentino Pérez, and particularly the government places the matter in a suspicious light.
