Mikel Goti Joins Córdoba on Loan for the Remainder of the Season

Mikel Goti will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Córdoba in LaLiga. His playing time at Real Sociedad under Pellegrino Matarazzo has been even more limited than under previous coach Sergio Francisco, despite scoring two crucial goals and demonstrating promising performance in the Copa del Rey.

Goti renewed his contract with Real Sociedad until 2028 last April, having emerged as a key player for Sanse, who achieved promotion to the Segunda División shortly thereafter. However, upon joining the first team, he faced stiff competition from Brais Méndez, Luka Sucic, and Arsen Zakharyan in his position, resulting in scarce playing time, as has been reflected.

The Gorliz native has only played 254 minutes for Real Sociedad, with 180 of those minutes spent in Copa del Rey matches against Negreira and Reus, where he scored a goal. The remaining 74 minutes came in LaLiga, where his role has been significantly diminished. At Córdoba, currently ranked tenth, Goti aims to regain his form and help the team secure a spot in the playoff for promotion to the top division.
