omidbasir- Major League Soccer (MLS) has officially launched the Walmart Saturday Showdown, a new programming initiative designed to spotlight a key MLS matchup each week throughout the regular season.

The league aims to provide fans with a central focus every Saturday, promoting regular viewership and improving the at-home watching experience through broadcast features that reflect the vibrant atmosphere of live matches.

William White, Chief Marketing Officer of Walmart, stated, “At its core, Walmart Saturday Showdown is about access and community. Through our partnership with Apple TV and MLS, we are celebrating the growing popularity of the sport while connecting fans to the most exciting matchups in MLS.”

White highlighted the cultural significance of soccer and the importance of establishing a routine for supporters.

“Soccer fans do not simply watch games; they create traditions that make the culture of soccer infectious. We aim to facilitate broader participation in the fandom by ensuring that matchdays are consistent and easily shareable every Saturday,” he remarked.

In collaboration with Apple, all MLS matches will continue to be accessible via Apple TV starting in 2026, with the Saturday Showdown being the featured event in each week’s lineup.

The inaugural Saturday Showdown matchups to kick off the 2026 MLS season include:

* LAFC vs. Inter Miami CF – February 21, 2026
* Real Salt Lake vs. Seattle Sounders FC – February 28, 2026
* Columbus Crew vs. Chicago Fire FC – March 7, 2026
* LA Galaxy vs. Sporting Kansas City – March 14, 2026
* Philadelphia Union vs. Chicago Fire FC – March 21, 2026
