Monaco Excludes Pogba from Champions League SquadMonaco Excludes Pogba from Champions League Squad

Monaco has officially excluded Paul Pogba from their Champions League squad for the knockout stages, as confirmed by sources to ESPN. This decision was made to create space for recent signings acquired during the January transfer window.

Pogba, who is set to turn 33 next month, has not played since early December. This season, he has made only three appearances, all brief outings against Rennes, PSG, and Brest.

The France international joined Monaco in June following an 18-month doping ban. He initially faced challenges with fitness and has since contended with minor thigh issues and an ankle injury, which further sidelined him.

Currently, Pogba is recovering from a calf injury sustained in early December, from which he is expected to return in the coming days.

In the meantime, Monaco has successfully signed Simon Adingra and Wout Faes during the January transfer window, both of whom are anticipated to play significant roles in the upcoming Champions League playoff matches against PSG later this month. As a result, Pogba’s participation is unlikely.
