Mullin Transitioning to Bradford A New Chapter in His CareerMullin Transitioning to Bradford A New Chapter in His Career

Paul Mullin became a beloved figure at Wrexham after playing an instrumental role in the club’s ascent through the divisions. However, he bid an emotional farewell to the Welsh side during the summer transfer window when a loan agreement was reached with Wigan Athletic. At the time, Mullin expressed his sadness over leaving Wrexham, but he returned to the club this winter after his loan was prematurely terminated. Now, Mullin is set to embark on another journey, having agreed to a temporary transfer that will see him compete with Bradford City in League One for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

In a recent interview, Mullin shared his sentiments about the transition and the difficulty in severing ties with Wrexham. “It’s something I’ve found quite challenging over the last 18 months. It was rather unexpected, especially after everything I had done and then undergoing surgery. The abrupt end was tough to accept, but that’s football. It’s an experience I’m unlikely to fully embrace due to the circumstances, but I recognize it’s part of the game. Now, I have the chance to succeed at a prestigious club and write a new chapter in my career.”

When asked if he feels a need to prove himself at Bradford, Mullin clarified, “Not necessarily a point to prove. It’s more about my desire to be successful; I want to play well consistently. My goal is to participate in as many matches as possible throughout my career. I’m a professional and my primary focus is to compete at a high level.”

Looking ahead, Mullin remarked on the opportunity presented by Bradford, stating, “This is a significant opportunity for me. I had inquiries from other clubs but was unwilling to leave Wrexham for just any situation. I felt honored when Bradford expressed interest, and I am motivated to excel here. It’s an incredible environment for football. Experiencing the atmosphere as a home player last Saturday, with 20,000 fans cheering, was unforgettable. I hope to relive that many more times this season. I see expectation and pressure as privileges; they drive me to perform at my best. I relish these challenges and look forward to making a meaningful contribution.”

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson commented on Mullin’s Bradford move, affirming that he believes it presents a fantastic opportunity for the striker. “I spoke with Mullin, and I think it’s a great fit for him. His chances at Wrexham were becoming limited due to the strong performance of our front players. He’s too talented not to contribute significantly elsewhere until the season’s end. We received several inquiries about Mullin, but the prospect of Bradford truly excited him.”

Currently, Wrexham is striving to secure a position in the Championship play-offs as they aim for Premier League promotion. At present, they sit sixth in the league standings and are set to face Millwall on Saturday. A victory would allow the Welsh side to level points with their opponents.
